The nursery-part 2

Here are all the individual projects from the nursery!

Custom painting from Etsy...This was the very last thing put in the nursery, and I think it is the perfect finishing touch!  I couldn't be happier with the how the colors turned out; I think it really brings it all together!

My favorite project in the nursery!  I drew inspiration from mobiles on Etsy and nursery DIY blogs.  For the base, I used a hanging lantern from Ikea and then draped white leafy ribbon around it.  I then drew out a pattern for the owls and the birds.  Everything that was hand sewn was done by me and Grandma did all the sewing with the machine...we make a great team! ;)

Grandma and I found a vintage rocker/gliding/swivel chair at a thrift shop for $20(!).  Then we went to ohhh, maybe 9 different fabric stores before finding the perfect fabric to have it reupholstered with! The adorable owl is from Etsy.

Custom made bedding!  What a talented Grandma you have!   She sewed the bumpers, crib skirt and fitted sheet to make the perfect bedding set for you!

The inspiration piece for the nursery-a beautiful, custom made quilt from Etsy!  The second I saw this quilt, I knew this is what we were going to plan your nursery around.  I sent her fabric from the bedding and I love how she incorporated it into the quilt!

Tree/Owl wall decal custom made from Etsy

Lovely pillows made by Grandma

I was standing in the wooden letter isle at Hobby Lobby, and had to decide on your name before I could buy the wooden letters...So Landon it was!  This was a simple and fun project to work on!  All you need are the wooden letters, some scrapbooking paper and embellishments, and modgepodge and ta da!  Hanging letters to match any space!

The memory photo board was another simple project...All you need is some fabric, ribbon, bottons, and a staple gun...then personalize with your pictures and quotes!

Love the Fluffy rug!  What a great find at Costco!  The mirror was just your average mirror from Ikea, until we spraypainted it orange!

Super soft minky fabric for your diaper changing cover...sewn by Grandma

Another one of my favorite projects in the nursery is the Family Wall...Your Grandpa, Grandma, mommy's and uncle's baby pictures.  The biggest frame in the middle is dedicated to you and will hold your newborn baby picture once you make your arrival :)

Diaper stacker sewn by Grandma

Custom made wipes case from Etsy

We had a lantern sitting in the backyard...we cleaned it up and Grandma spraypainted it the same aqua blue as your nightstand.  The owl is another custom made item from Etsy.

Grandma worked so hard on the bedding, had to throw in another pic of it ;)  Not to mention the fact that it took us a good 6 hours of shopping to find just the right fabric!

Floating nightstand we had made and then spraypainted ourselves.  Grandma added the ribbon embelishment to spruce up the lamp.

Making room for Baby-The Nursery!

Ta Da!

Creating this nursery was truly a labor of love!  Somehow almost everything turned into a DIY project and Grandma and I ended up creating almost everything ourselves!  Most of the rest of the items were custom ordered on Etsy.

I originally chose the owl theme, thinking how unique it was...until it seemed like owl decor started popping up EVERYWHERE!  Oh well, I still think the owls are adorable :)

Planning and creating this nursery took so much time...we definitely spent the last several weeks of summer working on it and just recently put the last finishing touches together. When we were done I didn't even know what to do with the free time I suddenly had! So, I started planning the nursery for the next baby...haha only kidding!!! ;)

Baby's little shoes!

All the adorable clothes I cannot wait to dress you in!  I have washed, organized, folded and refolded, hung and rehung all your little clothes, blankies, bibs, towels, etc.
Is this what nesting is?! lol

Your silly Uncle Cody can't wait to meet you!

Here is a link to Landon's nursery on Projectnursery.com...If you have time, feel free to check it out and vote :) They feature new winners on their homepage each week!  In addition to showcasing dozens of adorable nurseries and children's rooms, they also have posts related to party planning and decorating.  It really is a great website to draw inspiration from!

39 weeks and counting!

The Homestretch!

I decided that last Friday would be my last day at work so I could have a week to prepare (and also enjoy the last bit of peace and quiet I will have for the next 18 years)!  It's been sooo nice having this whole week free to finish all the little last minute things to prepare for my little bundle of joy's arrival! And to also get off my super swollen feet! :)

My bags are packed, I'm ready to go!  Got 2 suitcases, a boppy pillow, and a breastpump all packed up and ready for the hospital!
People have recommended bringing more than one homecoming outfit for you, so we'll have more than 1 size to choose from depending on how big you are, and also in case one gets dirty or soiled...I hear you baby's are pretty messy sometimes ;) So, I packed 3!  One in a Newborn size, another in 0/3 month, and a Thanksgiving Turkey outfit from your Auntie Regina since you might be my lil Turkey day baby!

Got to work cleaning and putting away all your baby items that have been sitting in the garage...Everything is now cleaned up, put together, ready and waiting for you!

Your carset is installed...and double checked by a fireman/certified carseat inspector to ensure my precious cargo will be safe!

Had to take a pic of your owl outfits that match your nursery...too cute!

I've also gotten to spend lots of time with Grandma on my week off, going to church, taking walks soaking up this lovely November weather, and even taking in a couple of movies!

We also enjoyed some pampering!  Part of Grandma's shower gift was a manicure and pedicure at Madison Ave.  How nice!  We got coordinating shiny, holiday toenail polish!  Now when my feet and legs are being held back while I'm in labor and pushing, I'll at least have nice, sparkly toes! ;)

Please ignore my swollen sausage toes!

Baby Shower #2 hosted by Grandma's Book Club- Oct. 29th

When my mom told me that her group of Book Club friends offered to host my baby shower, I was so touched!  My best friend Sarah offered to help out as well and did a great job organizing all the games that we played! A great mix of people came, including my mom's friends, my girlfriends from college, friends from work, relatives, neighbors, and several family friends.

Being that it was at the very end of October and my due date of November 22nd was quickly approaching, I was worried we might not make it...but baby Landon stayed put and everyone was able to enjoy the amazingly beautiful baby shower  put together by Grandma's book club friends!

Andrea and Rachel Falk...family of Dr. Falk who will be delivering you!  We are so blessed to have such a wonderful doctor and the support and friendship of the whole family.
I was actually Rachel's first babysitter when she was just 1 year old, and she will be your first babysitter...pretty amazing!! :)

The cutest, most fabulous diaper cake ever made!  All the little toys from your registry were on it...it's so cute I still have it up on display!
